MOTE - Mission OutreachTraining Exposure

Since the team of 60 students who pioneered the first MOTE experience in December 2007 to Botswana & Zambia, there has been no stop in the rapid expansion of the FTLT - MOTE movement. To date we have seen more than 3000 people going through the MOTE experience...what a joy!

"It has been an eye opener to all of us involved as we are experiencing daily how the emerging generation is calling out for practical involvement..."

"It is platform for development, growth and spiritual formation. The level of hunger and willingness for change, have a direct influence on how a MOTE experience will impact you. Opportunities and exposure are created throughout your MOTE experience, the challenge is what you do with it..."

MOTE is exactly as its name implies. It is an outreach during which you will do evangelism, community projects, prayer walking etc. You receive training while on the field on why we do missions, how to be a missional leader, what is cross-cultural ministry, who we are in Christ, status on world evangelization, etc. Then you are exposed to what it is to live in a cross-cultural environment as you will meet, interact and stay with missionaries. No fuzz, just straight to the point; empowering you to be a living example of change...

During 2008 a partnership was formed between FTLT, Tuks Mission & Bulembu ministries. Over three years, more than 730 passionate young people from different universities, denominational backgrounds and cultures have united around a common mission vision: To express God's love in a practical way by giving the first two weeks of their summer holidays to serve the community of Bulembu, a previously abandoned mining town in Swaziland.

In December 2008, 350 volunteers joined in on the first Swazi 1000 mission to Bulembu. Besides painting 12 community buildings, renovating two orphan homes, erecting a 1.6km dairy fence and painting 420 houses, these young people were challenged to live in radical devotion to God when they returned to their own communities. In 2009 and 2010, another 380 volunteers packed their tents and work gloves to set up camp; daily witnessing the transformation in Bulembu.

However, we do praise God for the opportunity we have to be part of this and request your prayer, support and personal involvement as MOTE continue to influence, challenge and empower an emerging generation towards change.

MOTE has three levels and each one is based on three building blocks; Outreach, Training, Exposure. Even though this form part of the main emphasis during their two week experience, the testimonies have showed that the outcome proof to be astonished:

"Today I discovered who I am in Christ..."

"God gave me such a passion for people..."

"How do we dare going home and live a life without noticeable change..."

"God is doing remarkable things around the world and it is a huge honor to know that He wants to use me to be His hands and feet..."

With so much more to say I want to encourage you in supporting those who are going, but most of all challenge you to join us for an experience that will change your view on life forever...

Perseverance... Determination... Attitude... Excellence...

The words printed above are merely concepts...

You must go through the Experience...
